Jika lipit dipres, ini akan berarti bahwa lipatan akan pipih dan jauh lebih tajam. Jika lipit tidak di pres, lipatan lipit akan jatuh lebih lembut atau bulat. Menghitung Lebar Lipit Jatuhnya lipit berdasarkan pada kedalaman lipatannya dan kaitannya dengan lebar kain yang digunakan. Menghitung kedalaman lipit, apabila kelebihan materi sama dengan ukuran yang dibutuhkan maka lebar lipit setengah dari lebar lipit. Apabila kelebihan materi dua kali dengan ukuran yang dibutuhkan maka lebar lipit sama dengan dalam lipit. Contoh jikalau lebar lipit 4 cm, kelebihan materi 4 cm maka dalamnya lipit 2 cm.
