Menghitung Lebar Lipit Jatuhnya lipit berdasarkan pada kedalaman lipatannya dan kaitannya dengan lebar kain yang digunakan. Menghitung kedalaman lipit, apabila kelebihan materi sama dengan ukuran yang dibutuhkan maka lebar lipit setengah dari lebar lipit. Apabila kelebihan materi dua kali dengan ukuran yang dibutuhkan maka lebar lipit sama dengan dalam lipit. Contoh jikalau lebar lipit 4 cm, kelebihan materi 4 cm maka dalamnya lipit 2 cm.
